Advance Praise
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.” 2 Chronicles 20:22
Advance praise is praising God before the miracle happens. It is the language of faith and the evidence of complete trust in God’s promises. Anyone can praise God after receiving an answer, but it takes faith to praise Him while the battle is still raging and before the breakthrough becomes visible.
King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were surrounded by powerful enemies. Instead of leading the army with the strongest soldiers, God instructed them to send singers ahead of the army. Humanly speaking, this strategy made no sense, but God’s ways are higher than our ways. As the people lifted their voices in praise, God fought the battle on their behalf and gave them a miraculous victory.
Advance praise declares that God is already working behind the scenes. It says, “Lord, I trust You even before I see the evidence.” Praise shifts your focus from the size of your problem to the greatness of your God. It fills your heart with confidence, silences fear, and creates an atmosphere for divine intervention.
Perhaps you are believing God for healing, financial provision, restoration, a job, a child, a spouse, or the salvation of loved ones. Instead of allowing worry to consume your heart, choose to offer God advance praise. Worship Him for His faithfulness. Thank Him because He has never failed and He will not start with you.
Every time you praise God ahead of your breakthrough, you are making a prophetic declaration that your victory is certain. Heaven responds to faith-filled praise. Walls come down, chains are broken, doors are opened, and battles are won when God’s people lift sincere praises unto Him.
Do not wait until everything changes before you praise God. Praise Him now because He is worthy. Praise Him because His Word is true. Praise Him because your testimony is already on the way.
