Faith Over Fear
Isaiah 41:10 —“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
One of the most repeated commands in Scripture is “Do not fear.” In fact, the Bible tells us “Fear not” more than 365 times: one for every single day of the year. Why? Because God knows that fear is one of the most powerful weapons the enemy uses against His people.
Fear whispers, “You’re not enough.” Fear says, “You’ll never make it.” Fear shouts, “What if God doesn’t come through this time?”
But faith, oh, faith speaks a different language. Faith declares, “If God is for me, who can be against me?” Faith reminds you that “All things work together for good to those who love God.” Faith is not the absence of fear, it’s the refusal to let fear have the final say.
Some Realities:
1: Fear Focuses on the Problem. Faith Focuses on the Promise. In Numbers 13, Moses sent twelve spies into the Promised Land. They all saw the same land, the same giants, and the same walls. But ten came back afraid, saying, “We can’t do it.” Two: Joshua and Caleb, came back with faith, saying, “If the Lord delights in us, He will bring us into this land.”
Same situation. Same challenges. But two completely different perspectives.
Fear focuses on the size of the giant. Faith focuses on the size of our God. Some of you are standing on the edge of a promise, but fear has kept you from stepping in.
You’re saying, “The mountain is too high, the battle too hard, the dream too big.” But hear me: God never asked you to measure the problem, He asked you to trust His promise.
The ten spies saw defeat; Joshua and Caleb saw destiny. The difference? Faith.
2: Fear Paralyses, But Faith Propels. In Matthew 14:22–33, Peter did something no man had ever done before, he walked on water. When he saw Jesus walking toward him, Peter said, “Lord, if it’s You, tell me to come. ”And Jesus said one word, “Come.”
Peter stepped out of the boat. As long as his eyes were on Jesus, he did the impossible. But the moment he looked at the waves, he began to sink.
That’s what fear does. Fear makes you focus on the waves instead of the Word. Fear paralyses your purpose and freezes your faith.
Some of you are like Peter, you started in faith. You stepped out. You believed. You began well. But then life got rough, the waves rose, the wind blew, the fear came, and now you feel yourself sinking.
Listen: the same hand that called Peter out of the boat is the same hand that lifted him up when he began to fall. Even when your faith feels small, Jesus is still near.
Faith will keep you moving when fear tells you to stop. Faith says, “I might be walking through fire, but I’m not walking alone.”

God’s promises are guaranteed as long as we choose faith over fear in Isaiah 41:10 it says Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand if only we can believe this promise we will stand strong during the test repeatedly Fear not is the instruction we are given so if we can hold on to that instruction God will do exploits…God is always with us. Fear focuses on problems, but faith focuses on God’s promises. Fear paralyzes, while faith moves us forward, trusting that God’s strength and presence will uphold us through every challenge.
