FINDING REST IN CHRIST
“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me… and you will find rest for your souls.”— Matthew 11:28–29 (NKJV)
In today’s fast-paced world, many people are physically exhausted, emotionally drained, mentally overwhelmed, and spiritually weary. We carry the weight of responsibilities, financial pressures, family concerns, disappointments, and uncertainty about the future. Yet, in the midst of all these burdens, Jesus extends a loving invitation: “Come to Me.”
Notice that Jesus does not first offer solutions to every problem, He offers Himself. True rest is not found in a holiday, a promotion, or even the absence of difficulties. It is found in the presence of Christ.
The rest Jesus gives is deeper than physical sleep. It is rest for the soul, a peace that calms anxious hearts, strengthens weary spirits, and assures us that God remains in control. When we surrender our burdens to Him, we exchange our anxiety for His peace, our weakness for His strength, and our fear for His confidence.
Many believers struggle because they try to carry burdens that God never intended them to bear. Worry cannot change yesterday, nor can it secure tomorrow. But trusting God transforms the way we walk through today.
Finding rest in Christ also means learning from Him. Jesus lived a life of complete dependence on the Father. He prayed regularly, withdrew to quiet places, and never allowed the demands of people to distract Him from God’s purpose. His example teaches us that rest is not laziness; it is trusting God enough to stop striving in our own strength.
Whatever burden you are carrying today, bring it to Jesus. He knows your struggles, understands your pain, and has more than enough grace to sustain you. His promise still stands: “I will give you rest.”

Jesus offers himself first and not a solution because the peace we so desire is in him and not in any method we use.
