FIX YOUR FOCUS – PART 2
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”— Proverbs 4:25 (NIV)
Continuation of the benefits of Focus:
- Focus Produces Fruit. “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” — John 15:5
Jesus used the word “remain”, to stay, to dwell, to continue. In other words, stay focused on the relationship. When a branch remains connected to the vine, fruit naturally grows. But when it’s disconnected, no matter how hard it tries, it can’t produce anything.
Sometimes, we try to manufacture results without maintaining focus on the source. Busyness can trick us into thinking we’re productive — but spiritual fruit comes from abiding, not striving.
When you stay focused on Jesus:
▪︎ You gain clarity in confusion.
▪︎ You experience peace in chaos.
▪︎ You produce fruit that lasts — love, joy, peace, patience, and faithfulness.
Lesson: Fruitfulness is a by-product of focus. Stay connected to the Vine, and your life will overflow with what He supplies.
- Focus Gives Strength in Trials.
Focus doesn’t remove hardship. It gives you strength to endure it.
Hebrews 12:2 says, “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Jesus endured the cross “for the joy set before Him.” He focused not on the pain of the present, but the purpose behind it, our salvation.
In difficult seasons, the enemy’s greatest weapon is distraction. He’ll try to make you look at what’s wrong, what’s missing, or what’s uncertain. But when you stay focused on God’s promises, His peace guards your heart and mind.
Lesson: Focus keeps your faith steady when life feels shaky.
Practical Ways to Stay Focused Spiritually.
▪︎ Start your day with God. Before you check your phone, check in with the Word.
▪︎ Write down your spiritual priorities. Don’t just think of them, see them daily.
▪︎ Guard your inputs. Be mindful of what you watch, read, and listen to.
▪︎ Take time to rest. Focus is impossible when you’re constantly drained.
▪︎ Refocus regularly. When distractions creep in, pause and realign.
