Forgiveness Is For The Undeserving
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Matthew 18:21
Peter asked the Lord how often he should forgive his brother. The Lord’s answer to him was simple: Up to 70 times seven times. (Matthew 18:22) In other words, all the time!
“Well, Pastor Enoch, he does not deserve my forgiveness.”
Neither did you deserve God’s forgiveness.
There is not a single person alive or dead who did not break all 10 of God’s commandments. There is no such thing as a “partial sinner” or “great sinner”. All of us were great sinners when Jesus saved us. And when we realize that we are forgiven much, we will love much. (Luke 7:47)
“Pastor Enoch, how can you say that I have broken all of God’s commandments? I have never committed adultery.”
My friend, Jesus said, “If you lust after a woman in your heart, you have already committed adultery with her.” (Matthew 5:28) That is God’s standard. Man looks outward, but God looks inward at the heart. Moreover, if you break one law, you are guilty of all. (James 2:10) So everyone has broken all of God’s commandments. Everyone is a great sinner.
Now, you are no longer a sinner if you have received Christ as your Savior. You are a new creation. But you were a great sinner and God forgave you your huge debt through the death of His Son.
So if someone has wronged you, tell yourself this: “I did not deserve God’s forgiveness, but He forgave me through Christ. So I forgive this person also.” If you say something like, “He does not deserve it,” it makes no sense. Forgiveness is not for people who deserve it. If they deserve anything, it is punishment. But forgiveness means that you extend grace — undeserved favor — like how God extends undeserved favor to you.
Beloved, if you choose to hold on to bitterness, no one suffers but you. You lose your peace, then possibly your health. It is just not worth it. God says to you, “Let go. Forgive them their debts, just as I have forgiven you yours.”

If God could forgive you, you also need to forgive others. More so unforgiveness is a dangerous as it can cause damnation or ill health

Forgiveness is the route that allows us to let go of that toxicity. Lack of forgiveness is about trying to maintain some semblance of power within our identity. It has the opposite effect; it changes us into something bitter, twisted, and enslaved. God has designed us to be something better, something glorious, beautiful, and free. We created the debt in our mind; we can write off the debt and let go of the shackles that tie us to our resentment.
Psalms 103:8-12
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Let go and let God.
Lord forgive me of any sins, resentment, anger that is in me knowingly and unknowingly in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Forgiveness is not for people who deserve it. In fact if we don’t forgive, we are the ones at detriment of the repercussions. God has shown us the best way to forgive, through extended grace and undeserved favour, as He daily continues to do so for us. My relationship with God and my peace is more important than carrying unforgiveness in my heart. Therefore, because God forgave me first that much, through Him I will always demonstrate forgiveness to others. Thank you Lord for the extended grace and favour you first had over our lives.

Thank you Pastor the people we must forgive, are those who desrtve it the least. In other words, the ones who have done the most wrong to us.
This is not easy o. This is a strong test of our faith in Gods word. It is a test of our love for God. For God has forgiven any and every sin we have comitted, why can we not do the same?
We have divinity inside us, we need to tap into it to allow us the have the virtues of Jesus. Give forgiveness freely for your own sake.
