God Honours Faith!
Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Faith is not just a concept we talk about; it is the very foundation of our relationship with God. It is through faith that we come to know Him, trust Him, and experience His power. And yet, sometimes our faith is tested; by doubts, by circumstances, or by the unanswered prayers that seem to stretch on without an end. In these moments, it can feel as though faith is difficult to hold on to, and yet it is in these very moments that God honours our faith.
Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is the lens through which we see God and His promises. It is through faith that we take Him at His word, trusting that He will fulfil what He has spoken. But what does it mean for God to honour our faith? It means that when we trust Him, even when we can’t see the outcome, He delights in that trust. And not only does He honour it, but He rewards it, as we see throughout Scripture.
Take, for example, the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:34. She had suffered for twelve years, spent all her money on doctors, and yet no one could heal her. But when she reached out in faith, believing that just touching Jesus’ garment would heal her, Jesus honoured her faith. He told her, “Your faith has healed you.” It was not the touch itself, but the faith behind it that moved the heart of God.
Similarly, in Matthew 17:20, Jesus tells His disciples that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. The power of faith is not in its size, but in the one in whom we place that faith. When we trust in God, even with the smallest measure of faith, He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
God honours faith because faith is the expression of our dependence on Him. It says, “I trust You above all else. I believe You can do what You have promised, even when the situation looks impossible.” In times of difficulty, our faith draws us closer to God, reminding us that He is faithful to fulfil His promises, even when the path ahead is unclear.
However, it’s important to remember that faith is not about having all the answers or a perfect understanding of God’s plan. It’s about trusting Him in the unknown. It’s about believing that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He will do, regardless of the circumstances we face.
Today, take a moment to reflect on your own faith journey. Are you trusting God with your current situation, even if the outcome is uncertain? Do you believe that God honours your faith, even in the smallest steps you take toward Him? Know that God sees and rewards the faith you have, no matter how imperfect or small it may seem.
