God of Restoration
Scripture: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” – Joel 2:25 (ESV)
Life has a way of stripping us bare—through mistakes we’ve made, losses we’ve endured, or battles we never asked for. Sometimes, it feels as though whole seasons of our lives have been wasted or destroyed. But God’s heart is not just to forgive us and move on; His heart is to restore.
Restoration is more than repair. Repair fixes what is broken, but restoration brings something back to its intended beauty and purpose. When God restores, He doesn’t simply give back what was lost—He often brings increase, healing, and new beginnings beyond what we imagined.
Think of Job, who lost everything, yet God restored to him double what he had before. Think of Peter, who denied Jesus three times but was restored to lead the church with boldness. The same God who worked restoration in their lives is at work in ours today.
If you feel like you’ve lost years to regret, fear, or pain, remember: God is not bound by time. He can redeem wasted seasons, heal broken places, and write new stories from the ashes of the old. His restoration is both a promise and a process—one that invites us to trust Him with what was, so we can embrace what will be.
Reflection Questions:
What areas of your life feel broken, lost, or wasted?
How could God be inviting you to trust Him for restoration in that area?
What would it look like to walk in hope, believing He can redeem your story?
God is a God of restoration. He heals the broken places in us and redeem what has been lost. It is time to surrender your past, your pain, and regrets to God. God will restore your hope, renew your strength, and remind you that nothing is wasted in His hands in Jesus’ name, Amen.
