Lift Songs Of Praise To The Lord
Ephesians 5:17- Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
God wants us to walk as wise men and women, and not as fools. (Ephesians 5:15) Now, He will not tell us to walk in wisdom without showing us how. That is why His Word goes on to say, “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
So what is the will of God? The next two verses tell us how to identify it: “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord ”. (Ephesians 5:18–19)
As you allow yourself to be filled with the Spirit by lifting songs of praise to the Lord, singing or speaking (God knows some of us can’t sing!) psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and making melody in your heart to the Lord, God promises that you will know what His will is for your situation. You will then have the wisdom to decide wisely what to do next.
I have found this to be true in my own life. Whenever I face a difficult situation, the more I think about it, the more confused I get. The more I try my best to come up with a smart solution, the further the answer seems to get from me. But when I turn away from my problem and turn to God, singing in the Spirit and praising Him, I get a clearer perspective of the problem when I come back to it later. I also find an inner prompting to make certain decisions that in the end, turn out to be better than anything I could have come up with on my own.
So my friend, lift up songs of praise to the Lord, whether times are good or bad. For when you fill your mouth with praises to God, He will lead you and guide you in all the affairs of your life. Even if you are stuck with a problem, He will show you the way to go or make a way out for you. Either way, you will get the wisdom and help that you need!

Many times I have been stack with a problem and just by waiting on God He shows me what way to go. To be honest at the time this is happening, it becomes a tug of war, but when I do wait on the small still small voice within and receive or experience the goodness of my results I know it was only God who was directing me to wait.
THIS IS A TESTIMONY OF ME WAITING ON THE LORD. AS I AM READING THIS DEVOTIONAL I REMEMBERED IT.
I AM GOING TO BE AS QUICK AS I CAN WITH THIS, I HOPE I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL 🤣🤗😁. GOD HELP ME!
ONE NIGHT ON MY WAY TO BED, I WANTED TO CHANGE MY BED SHEETS THAT WAS DUE TO BE WASHED THE FOLLOWING DAY.
I FELT VERY TIRED AND COULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO CHANGE THEM, AS I WAS GOING TO WASH THEM ANYWAY THE FOLLOWING DAY.
BUT THE STILL SMALL VOICE SAID,TAKE IT OFF THE BED, IMMEDIATELY I HEARD, NO, JUST GET INTO BED, YOU ARE TIRED ANYWAY. I HEARD THIS CONVERSATION IN MY MIND THREE TIMES.
I STOOD AT MY BED JUST ABOUT TO GET IN BED, THE NEXT THING I KNOW MY HAND JUST PULLED OF THE BEDDING OFF THE BED
AND AS SOON AS I DONE THAT. THERE WAS A MASSIVE SPIDER ON MY BED WHICH FELL ON THE FLOOR, IMMEDIATELY, I STAMPED UPON IT WITH A SHOE. HONESTLY, I ALWAYS SLEEP WITH MY WINDOWS OPEN, I AM HIGH ENOUGH TO DO SO. AND IT IS VERY UNUSUAL TO GET SPIDERS IN MY ROOM. BUT THAT NIGHT I KNOW IT WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDING ME TO MOVE THE BED SHEETS. PRAISE GOD I DID NOT JUST GO TO SLEEP. I WAS GUIDED BY MY FATHER’S SPIRIT.
IT MIGHT NOT MAKE SENSE TO ONE OR TWO PERSONS, BUT I KNOW WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I AM SURE YOU CAN IMAGINE.
SO IT IS GOOD YO WAIT FOR THE ONLY DIRECTION… GOD’S, HE WILL GUIDE US INTO SALVATION, VICTORY, AND WONDERS WITHOUT LIMITS 🙏🏾 I. THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH AMEN 🔥🙏🏾❤️🌹THANK YOU SO MUCH PASTOR FOR THIS POWERFUL DEVOTIONAL. I AM BLESSED TO SHARE THIS TODAY. Very true pastor ,I can also testify to that . As it is said when the praises goes up blessings come down . Focusing on our situations only confuses us . But as we purpose not to lay on our own understanding but trust that our help always come from the lord ,and also the bible said He inhabited the praises of His people (psalm 22:3 )He will come down Himself.
When we pray to God in difficult situations He send help but when we praise God in those difficult moments He comes down Himself. Hallelujah praise God .

This is true Pastor, I remember when I was in the University there are courses I find difficult, after reading for many days no assimilation. One of those days God Ministered to me that 8 should give Him unusual praise through songs. Behold, after moment of praise and worship, I returned to my reading desk there was quick assimilation and in my dream the angel of the Lord gave me more understanding.
When it seems nothing is working and there is no way when we praise Him in songs He will come forth for us and when He comes let us obey Him. Peter said we labour all night and there is nothing to show for it, but by your word. After that moment it was a net breaking harvest for Peter and his brothers.

Amen, this is so true Sir and thank you so much for this insightful devotional Sir. In life it can be so easy to apply earthly knowledge to acquiring solutions to our problems, but there is no better way to get to the best results without God. In some occasions prayer is great, but there is something about that praise and worship you lift up to God, (especially in the midst of problems) that will strike God’s attention and cause Him to move to your rescue in immediate effect.
So as we allow ourselves to be filled with the Spirit by lifting songs of praise to the Lord, singing or speaking psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and making melody in our hearts to the Lord, God promises that we will know what His Will is for us in those situations. We will then have the wisdom to decide wisely what to do next. In doing so too, we are handing over the situation to God, giving Him room to provide us with answers/results through our praise and we are gaining peace that surpasses all understanding through the wisdom He blesses us with to take the right and bold next steps to success/victory.
