Living With Eternal Readiness
“Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. —Revelation 22:20
Many people think about the end times with fear, confusion, or curiosity. But for believers, the end times are not something to dread—they are something to prepare for with hope. The return of Jesus is not the end of our story; it is the beginning of eternity with Him.
Jesus never told us to obsess over dates and signs, but He did command us to be ready. Readiness is not about panic—it’s about preparation. It’s about living every day with eternity in mind.
The Bible describes difficult times in the last days: wars, deception, moral decline, and spiritual coldness (Matthew 24, 2 Timothy 3:1–5). Yet, in the middle of these warnings, there is a beautiful invitation: “He who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).
God is not looking for perfect people—He is looking for faithful people. People who keep praying when things get hard. People who keep loving when hearts grow cold. People who keep believing when the world is shaking.
The end times are not about running away from the world but shining within it. The darker the world becomes, the brighter the light of Christ should shine through us.
Heart Check
Ask yourself:
- Am I spiritually awake or spiritually asleep?
- Am I living more for heaven or more for this world?
- If Jesus returned today, would I be ready?
To live ready in the end times:
- Stay connected to God – Spend time daily in prayer and His Word.
- Walk in holiness – Turn away from sin and pursue righteousness.
- Love people deeply – Forgive quickly and serve joyfully.
- Share your faith – Use your life and your words to point others to Jesus.
