My Help Cometh from the Lord
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”Psalm 121:1-2
There are moments in life when human strength fails and earthly support proves insufficient. In such times, the question rises in our hearts: Where will my help come from? The psalmist gives us a confident answer-our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Many people look to connections, qualifications, wealth, or influence for help. While God may use people as channels, our true source of help is never man. Man can disappoint, but God never fails. When you lift your eyes to the Lord, you connect with unlimited power, wisdom, and grace.
The One who created the heavens and the earth is personally committed to helping you. He sees your struggles, knows your needs, and understands your battles even before you speak. The same God who holds the universe together is actively involved in the details of your life.
The psalm goes on to say that He will not allow your foot to be moved, and He who keeps you neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:3-4). This means your help is constant. God does not take breaks. Hе does not get tired. He is always watching over you, guiding your steps, and protecting your destiny. When challenges arise, do not panic. Lift your eyes in faith. Speak with confidence and say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6). Your help is timely, sufficient, and supernatural.
Beloved, as you trust in the Lord, expect divine intervention. Expect strength where you felt weak. Expect direction where you were confused. Expect provision where there was lack. Your help has arrived-not from the hills, not from people-but from the Lord Himself.
