One Thing Is Needful
Proverbs 4:20–21: My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
George Müller, who lived in the 1800s, cared for about 10,000 orphans in total in his five large orphanages. But he never allowed his huge responsibility to take him away from the Word of God. He said that every day, he would set aside time to study the scriptures until his inner man was happy in the Lord.
Once, Müller met a man who worked between 14 and 16 hours every day. He told the man, “You are destroying your health. You don’t have time for your family and, most importantly, you don’t have time to nourish your inner man with the Word of God.”
The man replied, “I hear you, but I can’t see how I can cut down my working hours and spend time in the Word because even with the 14 to 16 hours I put in each day, I still can’t put enough bread on the table for my family.”
As the man walked away, Müller said, “He doesn’t believe that if he gives time to God’s Word first, God will take care of all his needs.”
Likewise, do you really believe that every day, only one thing is needful? Even if the bills don’t get paid, the children are not making any headway in their studies and the office work is not completed, all these things can wait. Only one thing is needful — that you spend time in the Word of God.
When Martha complained to Jesus that her sister Mary had left her to serve alone (Mary was sitting at Jesus’ feet and hearing His Word), Jesus defended Mary by saying, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41–42)
My friend, you will not lose out when you take time to sit down and listen to God’s Word. Even your health and well-being will be blessed. (Proverbs 4:22) So take time today to meditate on His Word. It will make your way prosperous (Joshua 1:8–9), and give you divine health and good success!

The bible is the very word of God. Our spiritual food that we MUST live on. We can’t neglect spending time to read God’s Word and talking to him daily, we will truly cultivate our relationship with God
The more we spend time reading God’s Word, the more we get to know God and the stronger our relationship with God’s get.
In God’s presence there is fullness of Joy, why would we run away from Joy?
Lord in your presence is where I need to be and to know your word is to know you. Thank you Jesus.

WOWWWW! THAT IS SO TRUE, WHEN I GIVE MORE TIME TO THE THINGS OF GOD. HE TAKES CARE OF EVERYTHING ELSE.

BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

IT IS BECAUSE WHAT MARTHA WAS DOING WAS VERY GOOD PREPARING FOOD FOR THE KING OF kings, FOR THE BODY THAT PERISHED, BUT HER SISTER
MARY WENT TO RECEIVE THE WORD WHICH IS THE BREAD OF LIFE THAT FEEDS THE INNER MAN THAT GIVES LIFE ETERNAL.
ALSO WHEN WE PUT HIM FIRST IN ALL WE DO, JESUS HIMSELF DEFENDS YOU.
COME ON NOW!

Father help me to priorities your word more than anything in this life .for Psalm 138:2 says that God “magnified his Word above all his name .awwwww .even God Himself . Glory be to God .one thing is needful is to sit at the feet of the master in other words have time read and study The word of God .

There is need to give priority to spending time with God and his word over any other thing in our lives because these are (God and his word) capable of giving us direction, guidance, health and success. Hallelujah!

It’s amazing how much insight and knowledge we can gain from reading the Bible and devotional materials. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned so much from this devotional. It highlighted the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10:41-42. It reminded me of the importance of spending time with God,
Through this devotional, I have gained a deeper understanding of how I can combat negative thoughts with the Word of God and in turn I receive peace and joy, even in the face of challenges. I am so grateful for the powerful messages shared today Sir, it has inspired and fired me up to continue on my spiritual journey with passion and purpose.

This one was very needed today sir. I have only taken time out from working to read this now at 1pm. That IS NOT good enough. I have nit started my day with Gods word and have only focused on my work life.
I MUST remember, that if i put God first, all my needs will be taken care of. Its very important that we take time out of our day to thank our creator and give Him the time He deserves. No matter how busy we think we are, we can ALWAYS make time. Whenever we check our social media, we can read a passage. Whenever we take time to eat, we can listen to an audio of the word. We can make excuses, but what is a good reason to miss out?
Make no mistake, WE will be the ones that miss out. As the scripture below says, we will delight in the RICHEST OF FARE if we listen and He will make an EVERLASTING COVENANT with me. What more reason do we need to listen?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.
