Peace, Be Still!
Mark 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Often times in life, we are faced with storms and the world seems to be coming to an end. Nothing seems to work right. The debts are high but the funds are low. It looks like everything is closing in on us. This is the period of storm and it can be very discouraging.
The good thing is that you are not alone in such a situation. The devil may whisper to your ears that your circumstance is the worst. That is a lie! Everyone goes through their own periods of storm. Even the apostles of Jesus experienced a storm when they were in the boat with the Master.
The bible tells us in Isaiah 43:2 that when we pass through the waters, that they will not overflow us, and that when we walk through fire that we will not be burned. We must notice that the bible didn’t say ‘if’ – it says ‘when’. What this means is that nobody can pass through life without encountering difficult situations. But these trying times shouldn’t be the end of the world.
In fact, In Isaiah 43:2, God tells us that He will be with us both in the waters and in the fire. He was in the boat with the apostles when the storm was threatening to put them under. What storm are you grappling with at the moment? Is it ill health, financial difficulties, unemployment, trouble in your place of work, marital delay, stubborn children – whatever it is – God is still there. All you need do is to call out to Him.
When the disciples called out to Him, He arose and spoke to their storm and there was a great calm. Call upon Him today and watch Him speak peace into that your situation.
