Run to God’s Word!
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
In life, we all face moments of uncertainty; times when the road ahead seems unclear, when questions loom heavy, and when the weight of decisions feels overwhelming. In these moments, there is one sure place we can run to: God’s Word. His Word is not merely a collection of ancient writings; it is living, active, and powerful. It is a guide, a refuge, and a source of wisdom for every moment we face, and thankfully for all ages.
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” The image of a lamp illuminating a dark path is a beautiful and vivid reminder of the role God’s Word plays in our lives. Just as a lamp guides a traveller through darkness, God’s Word helps us navigate through the uncertainties and challenges of life. In a world full of confusion and conflicting voices, His Word stands as an unshakable truth.
When we face trials, it’s easy to look for answers everywhere, like in social media, friends, or even our own reasoning. While advice and counsel can be valuable, nothing compares to the clarity and wisdom found in God’s Word. The Bible is filled with promises that remind us who God is, what He has done, and how we can live in light of His truth. In times of fear, His Word assures us of His presence (Isaiah 41:10). In times of temptation, it gives us strength to resist (1 Corinthians 10:13). In times of confusion, it brings clarity (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Moreover, running to God’s Word is not just about reading it for comfort or guidance, it is about reading with understanding and allowing it to transform our hearts. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that “the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.” It pierces deep into our souls, exposing areas where we need growth, convicting us of sin, and leading us to a deeper relationship with God. When we run to His Word, we are inviting His truth to shape our lives.
Today, are you running to God’s Word? In times of joy, sorrow, or uncertainty, make it a priority to open the Bible. Allow it to be a lamp that lights your path. Allow it to be a source of strength and peace. No matter where life takes you, God’s Word will never fail you. Let the Bible be something you daily can’t do without, for it will always point you back to Him; the One who is the ultimate truth, comfort, and guide.
