Stay in the Secret Place
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty
When there is a heavy downpour, it makes a lot of sense for one to find the nearest shelter and hide one’s self. This shelter can be likened to the secret place of the Most High where we are called to hide from the troubles of this life. Staying in the secret place keeps you protected from all the wiles of the enemy.
It is important to note that the secret place of the Most High is not a physical location or stronghold but it is a place of deep intimate relationship with the Father. It is a place characterised by fellowship, study, prayers, and deep intimacy with God. It is a place where one finds rest, protection, provision, and guidance. It is a spiritual sanctuary where one communes with God and finds food for the journey.
It is in the secret place that Elijah met the angel that gave him food that carried him for 40 days. Jesus was in secret place and when He came out, He was able to shun the devil with all his temptations. Jacob wrestled with the angel in the secret place and after that encounter, his name was changed to Israel.
The importance of the secret place cannot be overemphasized in the life of a believer. When life begins to hurl challenges at you, go into the secret place and draw strength. Are you confused or frustrated, go into the secret place and ask for direction. The situation never remains the same after you have engaged the Father in the secret place. The situation may not change but you are prepared with a renewed strength and resilience to face it.
Don’t just go to God when there is a problem. Make Him your dwelling place and your habitation. Stay in the secret place and be shielded!
