The Power of the Holy Spirit – Part 2
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8 (NIV)
The Holy Spirit is not merely a force; He is a person — the Comforter, the Counsellor, the Helper, and the Teacher. He equips us to do what we can not do in our own strength. When we yield to Him, He gives us wisdom to make the right decisions, strength to overcome temptation, and boldness to share Christ’s love.
Continuation of what the Holy Spirit does:
- The Holy Spirit Gives Power to Transform.
The Holy Spirit is not just a helper — He is a transformer. He works from the inside out, shaping us into the image of Christ. Paul writes, “And we all… are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
He convicts us of sin, guides us into truth, and produces fruit in our lives — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23). These are not things we can manufacture on our own. They are the result of the Spirit’s work within us.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom — freedom from sin, shame, and fear.
- The Holy Spirit Gives Power to Pray.
Sometimes, we don’t even know how to pray. Our hearts are heavy, our words fail, and our faith feels weak. Yet, Romans 8:26 reminds us that “the Spirit helps us in our weakness… the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
The Holy Spirit prays with us and for us. He aligns our hearts with God’s will and strengthens our faith in the process. Prayer becomes powerful when it’s led by the Spirit — it moves mountains, restores hearts, and brings heaven’s will to earth.

Holy Spirit, I thank You for Your presence in my life. Fill me afresh with Your power today. Help me to walk not by my own strength, but by Your guidance and grace. Amen.
Holy Spirit divine I thank you for your presence and for dwelling in me. I pray that you walk- with me and guide my ways in all that I do. May you manifest in the seven forms of your power,counsel, knowledge, understanding, wisdom and fear of God in my life so that I may become just, holy and wise to the glory of our God Almighty. Amen.

These activities are very important to us as children of God because we need to drop the nature of the flesh after we have given our lives to Christ and also because we can’t pray as we ought to except the spirit helps us.
