2 Corinthians 5:7– For we walk by faith, not by sight.
The Christian journey is one of faith. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Paul reminds us that we walk by faith, and not by sight. Faith calls us to trust God beyond what our eyes can see and our minds can fully understand.
While the world often depends on visible evidence and tangible results, we are invited to rely on His promises, character, and unfailing Word. Faith is not blind optimism; it is confidence in a faithful God who has proven Himself trustworthy throughout history.
Walking by faith becomes especially important during ⁶seasons of hardship and uncertainty. There are times when God’s plans are not immediately clear, prayers seem unanswered, and circumstances appear discouraging. In such moments, we must remember that God’s perspective is far greater than our own. Just as Abraham obeyed God’s call without knowing exactly where he was ⁶going (Hebrews 11:8), we too are called to follow God’s leading even when the path ahead is hidden from view. Faith enables us to move forward with confidence, knowing that God is directing our steps.
Faith also strengthens us to overcome fear and doubt. When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus on the water, he succeeded as long as his focus remained on Christ. However, when he focused on the wind and waves, he began to sink (Matthew 14:29–31). Likewise, when we concentrate solely on our challenges, our faith can weaken. But when we fix our eyes on God’s power, promises, and presence, we find courage to face life’s storms. Faith shifts our attention from the size of our problems to the greatness of our God.
Though sight may be limited, faith allows us to experience the peace, joy, and assurance that come from knowing that God is always in control. Therefore, let us walk confidently each day, not by what we see, but by faith in the One who holds our future.
