WE HAVE A BALM IN GILEAD.
“Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?” Jeremiah 8:22 (KJV)
Jeremiah posed a powerful question: Is there no balm in Gilead? During a time when everything seemed chaotic and the people were afflicted with sickness and infirmities, he wondered aloud if there was no remedy for their condition. But here’s the good news—we are not without help. Christ has paid the price for our healing, health, and wholeness. We do have a balm in Gilead, and that balm is Christ Himself.
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:4–5 (KJV)
Scripture makes it clear: by His stripes, we are healed. As believers, we are not meant to be plagued by sickness, infirmities, or diseases. We are immune because we are in Christ and seated with Him in heavenly places. The Word of God declares, “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh” (Psalm 2:4). You are no longer in the kingdom of darkness, where Satan rules. You have been translated into the kingdom of light, where there is liberty and dominion. You are not to be pitied—you are victorious!
As a child of God, sickness must not be tolerated. You must stand firm against it. Sickness brings weakness, and no weak man can fulfill destiny.
You were bought with a price, and your body must glorify God. One way to glorify Him is by living a healthy life. Refuse to accept negative reports about your health. Instead, look into God’s Word and enforce your victory.
Some might say, “This sickness runs in my family. It’s hereditary.” They’ll claim, “My great-grandfather had it, my grandfather had it, my father had it—so I must have it too.” But that’s not your story! Say it aloud: *“Not me!”*
The Word of God declares, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Glory to God! As your spirit has been renewed in Christ, so has your body. You are no longer bound by genetic or hereditary limitations. Christ has made you whole! Stand on His Word and walk in the fullness of His healing power today.
