You Reap What Yow Sow
Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
God has founded this world on principles. Anyone who follows these principles – believers or nonbelievers – would reap the benefits of them. For example, a person who works hard will be successful; a farmer who sows maize will reap a harvest of maize, and so on. No one can mock God!
Many people live their lives anyhow without knowing that they are actually sowing seeds. The problem is you don’t know when and in what form your harvest will come. If it doesn’t come in your lifetime, then it will be there for your children to reap.
We have heard stories of people who receive favours just because of their surnames. It is not because their parents were rich but because they were honest and sincere people. There have also been stories of people who get rejection because of their surnames. You might want to say ‘God forbid’. But there is a lesson to learn here.
Whatever we do in life is a seed. When we show kindness to someone, we are sowing a seed of kindness that we or our children will reap sometime in the future. The same is the case when we sow hatred, gossip, backbiting, wickedness, and other kinds of evil.
Have you been doing good and it seems that good doesn’t come back to you? Don’t be discouraged. God’s word never fails. He will certainly reward your labour of love. Even if it doesn’t come back to you now, it will come later. You are sowing a seed and you will reap a bountiful harvest. Keep helping people. Keeping supporting the church. Keep paying your tithe and offering. Keep standing up for the truth. Your reward is nearer than you think!
